Three Abstracts Accepted for ESSA Research to Practice 2024

Exciting news! 🎉 EXPHYS are thrilled to share that we have three abstracts accepted for the Exercise & Sports Science Australia (ESSA), Research to Practice 2024 Conference.


This industry leading biennial conference will be held over three days, 2 – 4 May 2024, at the International Convention Centre Sydney (ICC Sydney). The conference brings together industry experts, academics and passionate professionals in the exercise and sports science industry, both domestic and international. 


We are excited to present EXPHYS’ research at this conference to our esteemed industry colleagues.

Adriana Giles, Clinical and Rehabilitation Lead, showcased the remarkable outcomes achieved through the EXPHYS BETTER ENERGY Program in this impressive poster. This was proudly presented at the Exercise and Sports Science Australia (ESSA) Research to Practice 2024 Conference. Innovative technology combined with expert fatigue science coaching, achieved positive health, life and work results, in this individual experiencing persistent fatigue following covid infection. The abstract associated with this poster will be published in the Journal of Clinical Exercise Physiology (JCEP). We're thrilled to announce our third study accepted for the Exercise & Sports Science Australia (ESSA) Research to Practice 2024 Conference - Exercise physiologist-led pain science coaching via telehealth improved pain and function in life insurance claimants: a pragmatic cohort study. This research piece has been selected as a finalist for the Practitioner Award. Dr. Vicky Phillips, General Manager and Senior Exercise Physiologist, will be proudly presenting this research. Special acknowledgement goes to the EXPHYS team, Deakin University and AIA Australia. “An exercise physiologist-led pain science coaching intervention in 1,275 clients resulted in clinically meaningful improvements in pain intensity and functional capacity, as well as significant improvements in work mindset, status and hours. Clients reported high satisfaction rates.” This research will be published in the Journal of Clinical Exercise Physiology (JCEP). #RTP24 #EXPHYS #PainScience #BETTERPAIN
