Say hello & get to know Martin 👋 Martin Stead Regional Leader – VIC, TAS Senior Exercise Physiologist Melbourne, VIC Martin is an integral part of the EXPHYS team as Regional Leader for Victoria and Tasmania. He holds 17 years’ experience as an Exercise Physiologist, along with his leadership expertise acquired at EXPHYS and other national health organisations. In his role as Regional Leader, Martin leads his team of EXPHYS consultants through strong connections and leading by example. He is also EXPHYS’ key local contact for Victorian and Tasmanian referring partners. Martin fosters strong, collaborative partnerships with these customers. As a Senior Exercise Physiologist, Martin provides immense value to his clients, helping them achieve meaningful health, life, and work goals. His extensive clinical background encompasses pain management, fatigue, cancer rehabilitation, mental health support, cardiovascular & respiratory rehabilitation, work conditioning and strength training. Martin coaches his son's sports activities and is passionate about his two favourite sporting teams – The Phoenix Suns in the NBA, and the Carlton Blues in the AFL. Our VIC, TAS and WA teams celebrated at their recent Christmas parties 🎄 Axe throwing proved very popular! This completes all EXPHYS regional teams connecting, enjoying time together, and reflecting on the year’s achievements serving our clients, customers and partners.

The EXPHYS team are Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) Accredited 🙌 Our team was fortunate to have Dr Oscar Lederman of the University of Technology Sydney, and Mental Health First Aid Australia, facilitate our training as MHFA instructor. This entire team training was coordinated by Adriana Giles, EXPHYS Clinical and Rehabilitation Lead. We are proud of our team’s expertise in mental health. This is evident within the delivery of our BETTER Programs.

Our QLD team celebrated at their recent Christmas party 🎄 There were bullseyes at axe throwing! All our regional teams are connecting, with EXPHYS VIC & TAS, and EXPHYS WA events coming up, and the EXPHYS NSW event already taken place.

The 2024 ARPA National NSW Excellence in Workplace Rehabilitation Awards celebrated the outstanding work undertaken by organisations that collaborate with EXPHYS. As an award sponsor, Chris Sinclair, EXPHYS Managing Director, presented the Exceptional Leadership Award to Jo Stanes, of Custodian Work Assist, WA 🌟 EXPHYS celebrated industry achievements with our team and our partners. Congratulations to award finalists, award winners, and ARPA National on putting together this wonderful event! 

Congratulations to our National Finalist, Kayla Dang 🎉 EXPHYS celebrated with Kayla, as one of three finalists for the 2024 ARPA National Outstanding Achievement in Return to Work Award - Associate Members & Industry Stakeholders. This award recognises the complex clinical support that EXPHYS provides, and the health and work outcomes achieved. “ Kayla navigated the complexities of anxiety followed by breast cancer to support her client through utmost care, trust and innovation. Health, functional capacity and work mindset improvements resulted with a successful graded RTW, in collaboration with workplace rehabilitation provider, from not working, to returning to pre-disability role, in 8 weeks ”, said Dr Vicky Phillips , General Manager, EXPHYS.
