Meet Brenton Watson. Hobart, TAS.

Brenton is one of our outstanding exercise physiologists. He has been part of the EXPHYS team for 2 years.  Brenton sees clients face to face in the Hobart region, and nationally via telehealth. 


Brenton holds a Professional Certificate in Pain Science from the University of South Australia.  He completed both his exercise physiology undergraduate degree, and post-graduate Masters’, at Deakin University in Melbourne. 



Brenton has 8 years clinical experience, with a wide skillset across work injuries, corporate health, pain and fatigue science. 


Brenton is passionate about using pain science to improve the lives of his clients.  He is the respected past holder of Hobart’s local pain educator for Pain Revolution, a charitable organisation run by Professor Lorimer Mosely. 


Brenton has a personable, calm demeanour about him.  He and his partner enjoy the beautiful lifestyle of Tasmania.

Dr Vicky Phillips, General Manager, presented as a finalist for the Practitioner Award, at the recent Exercise and Sports Science Australia (ESSA) Research to Practice 2024 Conference. This study provided retrospective analysis of a pain science program delivered by the wider EXPHYS team, to 1,275 people living with persistent pain. A wonderful collaboration between EXPHYS, Deakin University and AIA Australia. Exercise physiologist-led pain science coaching resulted in clinically meaningful pain reduction and functional improvements, return to work outcomes, and positive customer experience. This presentation is published in the Journal of Clinical Exercise Physiology (JCEP).
