EXPHYS Supporting One Foot Forward for Mental Health Research

This October, during Mental Health Month, the EXPHYS team are joining the Black Dog Institute to help create better mental health for all Australians. We are walking, running and moving towards our distance and fundraising goal.

This year we have four regional teams, within our EXPHYS team. This creates regional team connectedness and some healthy competition.

👟 EXPHYS QLD

👟 EXPHYS NSW

👟 EXPHYS VIC, TAS

👟 EXPHYS WA

We’ve set an EXPHYS distance goal of 1,390km and aim to beat last year’s fundraising amount to help reduce the impact of mental illness for all Australians.

EXPHYS also improves the mental health of Australia through our BETTER MOOD Program. This program focusses on restoring mental function under the expert guidance of a mental health exercise physiologist, trained in Mental Health First Aid. Unlock the natural medicine cabinet of the brain and harnesses the social benefits from exercise. Be supported through meaningful connection using an exercise buddy, community, and wearable technology.

Walking Together. Standing Together. Stronger Together.

RESOLVE uses modern up to date approaches to resolve persistent lower back pain. The evidence is compelling. EXPHYS are proud to integrate the RESOLVE approach into our BETTER PAIN Programs. NeuRA (UNSW) are now investigating transferring the RESOLVE research into real world health practice, by way of a research study. EXPHYS is privileged to be participating in this invitation only, ground breaking study with NeuRA. Adriana Giles, Clinical and Rehabilitation Lead; Charlotte Cummins, Regional Leader – WA, NSW; and Brenton Watson, Senior Exercise Physiologist, are representing EXPHYS in this study. We can’t wait for RESOLVE to be presented at the EP3 Pain Science Conference! Contact EXPHYS to learn more about how we are at the forefront of RESOLVE. https://www.exphys.com.au/ 📸 noigroup

Did you know osteoarthritis is an inflammatory condition? And that exercise and good nutrition are natural anti-inflammatory approaches? At the upcoming EP3 Pain Science Conference, Associate Professor Tasha Stanton is presenting on the up-to-date approach to address knee osteoarthritis and pain. In Australia, osteoarthritis is a leading cause of early work retirement. Stay tuned for Tasha’s EP3 updates being communicated by EXPHYS. And how EXPHYS is integrating these updated approaches into our BETTER PAIN Program! https://www.exphys.com.au/programs/better-pain 📸 noigroup
